How Much Do Models Get Paid In The UK?

Like many roles in many different industries, an exact figure for a annual salary is a tricky questions to answer. Models normally spend a lot of time attending castings to find paid work. Sometimes working hours can be long. However you are expected to be able to commit to them fully. Remember there are many variables that go into how much you will get paid for jobs.

1: Your Niche – different sectors in the modelling world all have a different budget to work with.

In the ‘High Street Fashion’ world they have much more to spend than the commercial industry.

If you find yourself becoming successful in a particular field continue in it and stick to it. As the saying goes: ‘If its not broken, don’t fix it!’

2: Your Experience – This plays a key part in your new career.

In the beginning, as new model you can expect to be paid much less. This is because you most likely lack the experience that is needed.

This can soon changee as you grow and take on more roles and work with more companies and agencies you can certainly see an increase in your pay.

Things like celebrity status and a huge social media following can also help contribute to this swell. On the other hand, always try to avoid working for free. Being paid in products won’t help you pay the bills either!

3: Your Agency– very important!

Normally your model agent will be able to negotiate fees on your behalf, unless you are a freelancer.

Remember that those who you trust in representing you will always be able to take a percentage of the earnings. This is only fair as they ultimately secure the role for you, so make sure that they always have your best interest at heart and will always make the right decisions by you.

4: Who You Know– This could be anyone in the industry.

When startting out it could be photographers, designers, agencies, friends or family members and even other models but all will be able to help.

Making a good first impression is crucial here as this means that many people will already have knowledge of you.

5: Social Media– As mentioned earlier a big following could mean a bigger wage.

A common thing to notice with Instagram influencers is they promote a whole range of different products and projects.

Often you will find that some months you will be making a huge amount of money. Then other months you will find yourself making a lot less.

Here it is so important to be able to be organised. You need to make sure that you are taking care of your money and managing as well as you can. Your pay may not be consistent so you need to take that into consideration.

If maths isn’t your strong point, it might be beneficial to you to find somebody to help you with this. For example lots of models have accountants.

Where is The British Model Alliance Based?

Their head office is based in London. The Studio is also based in London at 9 Bateman Street, Soho, London, W1D 4AQ.

Both are easily accessible with multiple surrounding stations like Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Circus. Even if you are travelling from far away there are again many places for you to stay overnight if needed.

You might decide to take the time to visit the city and have a day or two in London.

How Much Do British Model Alliance Charge For A Portfolio?

The British Model Alliance understand that everybody’s financial situation is different. They make sure that their portfolios are available to everyone. Not only this but they also want to make sure that you choose the best portfolio for your needs.

Portfolios can start from around £500, which will increase depending on how many images you would like.

On the day they will be able to take the time to go through your photos and then what package would be best for you.

From here you can design your own, unique portfolio, choosing a suitable package from their price list.

Why Do I Need To Pay For A Portfolio, Surely Its Should Be Free?

The easiest way to see a portfolio is if it is your CV for the modelling world.

This is how agencies and clients will be able to see the previous work you have completed. The clients will look for how you pose, how you connect with the camera, your talent and your potential in the modelling industry.

At first portfolios may seem expensive but I want you to remember that this is an investment in your future. All models need a portfolio. Even models like Kate Moss and Tyra Banks have portfolios because they are needed!

If you was to conduct the same photo shoot yourself you would see that it would most likely cost a lot more than your portfolio alone.

Think of it as you are investing in your new career and in the end you will have a set of invaluable, high quality images of yourself that you are able to use, wherever you like, to show off your talent!

Is British Model Alliance A Scam?

Although they cannot find you work directly, the guide you as best they can. They show you what steps you need to take to reach your goal with your professional portfolio. We can approve The British Model Alliance of being reliable and dependable company.

They will never contact you via social media as they only contact those who apply through the correct channels.

Unfortunately there are many scam artist out there. They do try to use their name, promising the world and an abundance of money that comes with it.

You have to be extremely cautious when it comes to this. Many people prey on innocence and exploit people for their dreams. They hide behind computer screens, pretending to be successful companies. Young, vulnerable teens are easy targets and one of the most sought after victims for these people. So you need to be aware of what signs to look for to keep yourself as safe as possible.

Messaging you on a social media platform would never happen with a credible company as they would already have hundreds of applicants to go through.

Never meet anyone from the internet alone and always tell a parent as they will be able to help you decipher who is and who isn’t a trustworthily individual.

If you do decide to arrange a meeting alway make sure you do have a parent or family member with you.

DO NOT go to somebody’s house. DO NOT engage with anyone who uses inappropriate terms like ‘sexy’, ‘honey’ or any other type of comment. Legitimate companies, like British Model Alliance,  would never use terms like this.

Are British Model Alliance Reviews Fake?

Some rival companies will do whatever it takes to give competitors a bad name, hoping that it could put them out of business.

It is a very competitive industry in the UK and, unfortunately, this is something that happens quite regularly, but do not be discouraged as there are many legitimate sources where you can look at real comments for yourself. Especially 3rd party, independent sites where they make it near to impossible to fake any reviews.

Please see below for some of those independent sites, proving true, verified reviews from real customers:
